Mat Lodder Polo was founded in 2009 out of a genuine love of our equine friends and a desire to make polo accessible and fun to all...As well as playing professionally, we offer a range of services for you & your horse.
We spend our time between the family farm in Warwickshire, the polo yard in Berkshire & Puesto Viejo Polo Club in Argentina. We make and re-school ponies for polo and 'start' horses for all disciplines, we run a polo school here in the UK and host bespoke 'polo holidays' in Argentina.
Mat has worked with and for some of the biggest names in polo. His international record speaks for itself; winning the much coveted Queens Cup with Dubai Polo Team in 2003, playing in the Gold Cup final in 2004, from then has won the Royal Windsor, Phoenician & Caterham Cups at Guards, Zurich Open, Thai Open, German Sylit & 2 polo tours in Argentina with the renowned La Dolfina Polo Team & probably Mat's proudest moment, playing for his country in the FIP world cup when England made it to an incredible final against Brazil in 2004. Mat continues to play High and Medium Goal polo in the UK recently winning the Phoenician Cup again in 2016 at Guards Polo Club.
What makes Mat even more inspirational is that he didn't get 'into polo' until the age of 22 and then worked his way to becoming a player from a groom. He is proof that anyone can make their dream a reality with hard work, a good heart and dedication.
